ARTIST NOTE

정물학의 역사 중에 메갈로그래피 (Megalography)의 오래된 관행을 되돌아 보는
것이 중요하다. 이것은 신들의 전설，영웅들의 전투，역사의 극복과 같이 찬사 받을
만한 가치가 있는 것을 묘사하는 것이고, 반대 개념의 로포그래피(Rhopography)
는 중요하지 않은 일상적 인 것을 묘사하는 것으로，정물이나 동물과 같이 사소한 주
제들은 계속적으로 간과되어 왔다. 그러나, “중요성” 이라는 것은 “중요하지 않은
것” 과 비교 되어 있을 때만 정의가 내러지고, 이 두가지는 빛과 그림자처럼 상반되
지만 밀접하게 연결되어 있다. 이처럼 정물화는 인간의 충동에 의해 무시된 것을 이
야기 하면서 인간 주제의 권위에 대해 계속 의문을 던진다. 화러하고 매력적인 인간
의 형상이나，소설 속 위대한 이야기는 묘사되지 않았지만，사람들이 생각하는 관점
을 뒤집 어 보고 그것으로부터 가치창조를 추구하고 있다.
