Kim Ahra primarily works with canvas to create abstract artwork, drawing inspiration from the structures and patterns found in traditional architecture. She selectively collects, materializes, and reconstructs these elements, particularly utilizing wooden canvas frames to explore the significance of objects beyond the painted surface. Her work delves into the presence of the frame itself, its fragments, and their relationship with space, focusing on the interaction between the structural components and the medium while seeking new forms and meanings. Born in 1989, Kim Ahra graduated from Kyonggi University Graduate School with a degree in Environmental Sculpture. Since then, she has actively participated in exhibitions, developing her own unique sculptural language.
